Today I am sharing a concept board that I recently put together for one of my styling session clients. I just completed a MAJOR overhaul in their family room, and they are so thrilled with the outcome that they immediately brought me back to help them with their entry hallway. We hopped the phone for a brief consult, and determined a quick styling session was the best approach for this scale of project, and then they set me loose to begin brainstorming concepts and sourcing deliverables! With photos and measurements at my fingertips I was able to pull together a complete concept board with shoppable links – and as I type, everything pictured is on order and currently en route to their home for the next step, installation.
Oh – did I mention that the deliverables for this project came in under $450? And the design concepts with deliverables were turned around in 1 week? True story! Under budget, and ahead of schedule. That is how I like to roll, it is a win for everyone. Keep reading below for more details…
Because this client has an open floor plan, yet the home is on the smaller side, it was key to impart some consistency in order to achieve our overall goal, which was to create flow. This was achieved through a couple of elements such as the runner, which matches the rug in their family room, and the existing hallway console hardware will be swapped out to match what I selected for the new custom media built-in in the family room.
A circular mirror creates a focal point while reflecting natural light (great in smaller homes, opening up the space) and the antique black finish lends sharp, definitive style with a hint of simple luxury. Small, carefully chosen details in tonal hues of gray and blue introduce various weight, shapes, and textural elements – creating visual interest while simultaneously creating a seamless transition to the main event: their beautiful new family room (which will be photographed and shared soon, promise!).
