Obsession: Bubble Glass Chandelier

So.  I am dying to replace the overhead fixture in our dining room.  The existing one is okay, and fulfills it’s perfunctory role of illuminating the table, but I’d really like to get something spectacular.  I’ve been fantasizing about this chandelier since we moved in a year ago…which coincidentally, was featured in the February 2012 issue of House Beautiful.

Well, after much searching I did end up finding this exact chandelier for sale on 1stdibs.com.  FOR $5800!!!  If I had $5800 laying around I would buy it in a heartbeat.  Unfortunately, I don’t, so I must continue on my search because this is sadly out of my price range.

I’ve come across some other options that are very similar, like the Muriel Chandelier from Oly Studio (Around $3200 list…still a tad high)…

And the Clarissa Glass Drop Chandelier from Pottery Barn, but the dimensions are way too small for  my dining room.  Too bad, because the price is right ($399)!

And, finally, Z Galleries’ Links Chandelier – an updated spin on the classic Italian design from 1967.  Again, price is right ($299) but too small.

Nothing I have found thus far is the “perfect fit” so for now I’ll keep looking, and when I see it, I’ll know!  And so will you.  Stay tuned…
